Exploring the Different Bowling Variations
BOWLING VARIATIONS: Tenpins
Tenpin Bowling is the most recognized and most widely played version of bowling in the world, with an estimated 72 million bowlers taking part on an annual basis. The tenpin game originated in the 19th century and was an offshoot of Ninepin Bowling. To sidestep a gambling ordinance, the Ninepin ‘diamond’ configuration was modified by removing a pin from the last flank, and adding another pin to make up the corners of the Tenpin setup’s “fourth row” of pins.
