Exploring the Different Bowling Variations

BOWLING VARIATIONS: Bocce

OVERVIEW

Bocce is an outdoor game, often played on a ‘dirt’ court in which players on opposing teams roll their balls in an attempt to get closer to a ‘target’ ball than their opponents.  Bocce is similar to Lawn Bowling in that one of the strategies of the game is to try to roll your ball to impact the target ball to move it away from an opponent’s ball. One of the notable differences in the sport of Bocce is that a player may also implement a running shot in which a player attempts to heave his ball from a distance to land on and knock an opponent’s ball away from the target ball.
